Obituary of Rosa Bufalino
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1 2025, at the age of 91 with her family at her side. Reunited with her late husband, Francesco Bufalino; cherished mother of Joseph (Anna), Charlie (Hughena) and Mary Rose (Walter). Beloved Grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, Gaetano Montagna and Maria Di Prima and siblings, Concetta Mammano, Maria Duminuco, Filadelfio Montagna and Salvatrice Galante. Rosa will be dearly missed by her surviving siblings, Carmela Galante and Pina Salvo and extended Bufalino and Montagna families including many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rosa was born in Montedoro Sicily in 1933. Rosa and Francesco married in 1953 and moved their family to Canada in 1966. She was passionately devoted to her family, Rosa always put other’s needs before her own. She will be best remembered for her flourishing garden, cooking and knitting.
In honouring Rosa’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Family invites guests for a time of gathering on Sunday, January 5 2024 from 2:00-6:00pm with prayers being held at 2:00pm in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake St., St. Catharines on Monday, January 6 2024 at 11:00am followed by Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Rosa.
