I would like to offer my deepest condolences to Professor Pierre Lizée’s family. I was devastated to hear the sad news of his passing. Professor Lizée was my mentor and MA supervisor at Brock between 2004-2006. I remember his brilliant mind, his vast knowledge of international relations, international political theory, interest in Cambodia, Laos, US politics. But I mostly admired his talent and real gift of teaching and connecting with his students, helping them understand even the most difficult concepts. We stayed in touch even after my graduation and last time I was in Canada we met at Brock University. He was so proud of his daughter and son and he was so full of life. Professors and men like Pierre Lizée, who unfortunately passed away too soon, will always remain in our hearts. He was a kind soul, a true gentleman, with a witty sense of humour, simply a wonderful professor.
I loved my time at Brock and that is also because Professor Lizée was there, guiding and helping us.
Adieu, Monsieur le Professeur, vous serez toujours dans mon coeur.
May your kind Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!

Dr. Lizée encouraged me to return to school. I had the honour of sitting in two of his courses. The way he taught was magic. Every class was a story; you could enjoy it and remember everything he said. I have told some of his stories to my husband about his time aboard.
His door was always open to speak about a recent class or offer guidance. I would email him on occasion post graduation to update him on life and ask how he was. I saw him last year. I was just weeks away from expecting my son. It had been years since we saw each other but he remembered me and my name straight away.
I know words can’t take away your pain, all I can offer is my sincere condolences. Thank you for sharing your loved one with us.

This man right here was a rare gem. I can’t believe he is gone. There is so much I can say. He was a pillar of support and wise counsel through out my entire masters program at Brock University. More than any other professor in my entire educational journey at Brock, he was most instrumental. His kindness and gentleness was a breath of fresh air. My heart goes out to his entire family. May the Lord comfort you in the name of Jesus.
