Michele O'Connell

Obituary of Michele O'Connell

It is with deep sadness to share that Michele O’Connell (Musing) passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14th, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy L. Musing Kennedy, her grandson Tyler Kennedy Collins and his fiance, Rosa Torres, and her son-in-her-heart Timothy Collins. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Sylvia Musing, Patricia Musing, and Fred Musing, her cousins Vivianne, Yvonne, Datschi, Schorschi, Jerry, and Claudia, and her dear friends Ann, Martha, Heike, Philip, and Astrid. It is impossible to list everyone that was touched by Michele’s vibrant personality, her sense of humour, and her kindness and compassion. She was a caring human being who gave so much love and support to others.

Michele met many wonderful people when she was breeding high quality European German Shepherd Dogs. She was a keen advocate for GSDs and worked hard to maintain European standards in the best interest of the breed. She took the utmost care in placing her pups in homes that would best benefit the dog, and declined when she felt they would not be in the best care. Michele made a great impact on her GSD Community, and she will be greatly missed by her GSD peers, the handlers, and the judges.

Michele was a strong and resilient woman who overcame the odds numerous times over the years, whether it was challenging life circumstances or health concerns. She didn’t give up the fight until she couldn’t fight any longer. She will always be in our hearts, and she has touched our Spirit, changing us forever.

A celebration of Michele’s life will be held at a future date.

Not surprisingly, Michele was an animal lover. She helped her daughter with the numerous distressed and injured animals that would show up on their doorstep. Many of these injured animals went to Hobbitstee Wildlife Rescue who take excellent care of their animal-patients.
