Obituary of Evelyn Beverley Beckman
Beckman, Evelyn Beverley (nee: Johnston).
With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Evelyn on Saturday December 14th 2024 in her 82nd year at St Catharines General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and close friends. Evelyn married her high school sweetheart Allan in 1965, and during their 59 years of marriage became a cherished Mom to David (predeceased), Michael (Cheri), and Tammy (John), loving Nana to Jesy, Kyler and Ethan, and 'Nana Banana' to Makenna and Hudson. Her family was her world. Evelyn also leaves behind many extended family, friends and neighbours who held a very special place in her heart.
Many of Evelyn's lifelong friendships were made during her 52 years employment at TD bank, where she worked as a bank teller and greeted each customer with a warm friendly smile, going above and beyond to ensure they were taken care of. Evelyn truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds, and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who would help anyone. Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered. Evelyn was a social butterfly and built meaningful relationships with everyone she met. You could always find her with her Tim Horton's coffee in the kitchen baking her famous pies, 'hello dollies' and butter tarts, or crafting. She loved to shop and decorate her house and helped others decorate their homes. Gardening, travelling to Dominican and spending summers at her second home Newtons Cottages making special memories with her dear friends and family were important to her. Evelyn did it all as Al would say, she was an amazing woman.
Visitation for Evelyn will be held at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Wednesday December 18th from 1-3pm. At Evelyn's request cremation has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation at https://www.bafound.org/donate/give-now/ would be appreciated by the family.
