Bill and Family, I greatly regret that my schedule made it impossible to attend Jeannie's service. As a widower, my heart goes out to you, even more so given the tragedies recently befallen. Losing one's spouse is losing a life witness - a world that was previously perceived stereoscopically must now be perceived monoscopically. And that is just a tiny part of the loss. Having known her only by reading her obituary, and being a fellow book lover, I would have been delighted to have been in her company, comparing notes on all sorts of subjects, from aardvarks to zoology. She sounds like a saint and a scholar wrapped up in one. I am sure she touched many and her memory will extend to those she touched and by word of mouth by many more. Please accept my belated but sincere condolences. Mike Murphy from Moira SS.

Jeannie, you were my St. Paul Secondary School teacher for 4 years, my St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School teaching colleague for nearly two decades, and one of my life mentors - from age 13, my first day of high school English class in Grade Nine at NCC until the moment you were gone. Nah - scratch that: you will always be my mentor and I will continue to try to live up to your example of kindness, selflessness, and truth.
The world’s light has noticeably dimmed; Your warm smile, silly giggles and joyful eye-sparkle are no longer here illuminating it.
So much love for you, Jeannie.
Heaven has definitely gained an angel.
Thank you, for believing in me.
Love Jennifer [Smith]
P.S.
Bill, I have no words. Sending you love and prayers for strength as you navigate the next few days.
Alison, I heard SO much about you so often. What a gift it must have been to have Jennie as your Mama.

Mrs J., who let me call her Jeanie and called me Chickypoo in return, had a profound impact on my life. She reeled us in making the library our homeroom and the yearbook our annual project. She set a fantastic example of living joyfully and being of service to others. What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind.

Her wonderful smile always greeted me each morning at the start of homeroom and her words of wisdom for any concern I may have had about homework. She was a wonderful woman who helped me reach my potential among other teachers. She was a jewel of a teacher at St. Paul's and will be missed by many of her students. Fly high Mrs. Jacob's and be at peace ❤️

Sending out heartfelt condolences to Mrs Jacob’s family and friends. Over thirty years ago I was very much one of those students, “ who were lonely, lost and needed some extra guidance.” Her kindness, patience, acceptance and encouragement was incredibly impactful on my life; I’m grateful to have known her when I was a student at St Paul’s. She was wonderful.
