Obituary of George Vanderlee

VANDERLEE, George (Gerrit) It is with sadness we announce the passing of George (born in Oegstgeest, Holland) at the St. Catharines General Hospital on November 12, 2012, in his 72nd year. Survived by daughter Carrie, siblings Hans, Margaret and Mark, nieces and nephews, and cousins in Canada and Holland. Predeceased by parents Marinus and Johanna and brother John. George worked for many years for the St. Lawrence Seaway before retiring. He was an avid photographer, gardener, history buff and lately a computer †˜geek†™. In accordance with George's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
