I just heard about Jane's death from a relative. Jane was my second cousin, and proud of her Lawrence family heritage. I first met Jane on a trip to St. Catharines in ca. 2002, and she and John took us to see the Cunningham Foundry and the locks on the Canal. In 2014 my brother and I visited again, and she took us to the cemetery in Virgil where George Lawrence is buried. She was a wonderful host. And what a character! So sharp and fit! We exchanged Xmas cards for a few years, and then my emails and phone calls went unanswered. I'm glad I got to know her and John, and I am saddened by her passing. Lawrence W. Potts

As I reflect on “Auntie” Jane’s presence & influence in & on my life throughout the Gaboury/ Fitzpatrick/ Dulong holiday visits from Ottawa & Kitchener, I remember her faithfulness to her family (Grandpa Gallagher) & to daily mass. Most hospitable & welcoming. She was so open to fulfilling God’s plan for her life with such joy amidst much sorrow. She invited me to pray often for the family knowing that God would bring peace. She lived an exemplary Catholic Christian life living out her baptismal call for Jesus in the ordinary situations of the daily grind. I will miss her dearly. May Our Blessed Mother see you shortly. Carol G en route from Ottawa.

Jane was always full of life, full of love, and full of the Holy Spirit. Layne and I have so many great memories of Jane, starting with the stories my mom (Helen) shared about growing up across the street on Wolseley Ave. Jane loved the Lord, had a big, beautiful smile, and a wonderful laugh. When our children were young and we journeyed to St Catharines, John and Jane would invite us over for lunch as they were always so gracious and welcoming. They always had a great story to tell and we cherished our time with them. A few days ago, I re-read the cards and letters she wrote to us and looked at the pictures she shared. I'm glad we always made time to see her when we visited. We loved to exchange small gifts or flowers, and enjoy a meal at a restaurant. Many great memories, many great stories, and many great smiles. We'll miss her, but we know we'll see her again in Heaven. Praying that God would wrap his loving arms around all the Dulongs and provide peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Dulong 23 years ago, and her kindness touched my life in ways I will never forget. Her influence will remain with me forever. Her kindness was not limited to me alone. She made everyone feel seen and valued, leaving a lasting legacy of love and compassion. Though she may no longer be with us, Mrs. Dulong will always hold a special place in my heart. May her soul rest in peace.

My condolences to all Jane's family, especially her children. I have fond memories of your childhood home in St. Catherines and the generosity of your mom when our large family from Calgary showed up for a visit! She often sent birthday wishes to me and my sister Theresa (May babies). Jane and her parents took great care of my mom, Lorraine, over holidays spent nursing at Hotel Dieu, away from her own family in Saskatchewan. Jane was a lifelong friend to my mom, and was with her the night she met my dad, Hugh Purtill, at a dance. Jane lived life well, what a gift. Her spirit is free!
