It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Marg Cyr, a remarkable woman and dear friend who touched my life in profound ways. I first met Marg in the early 2000s when she led the Niagara Children’s Safety Village, and I was serving as President of the Niagara Paramedic Association. Over the nearly 24 years that followed, we forged a friendship that I will forever cherish.
Marg was a woman of immense strength, courage, and unwavering integrity. She was a community leader who exemplified tenacity and grit, never allowing obstacles to stand in her way. “No” was never an option for Marg—she always found a path to “Yes.” Her leadership and dedication to making a difference were nothing short of inspirational.
What I admired most about Marg was her deep love for her husband, Ted. It was contagious and a beautiful testament to the kind of person she was—loyal, loving, and committed to the people she cared for. Together, we worked on initiatives that would have a lasting impact, most notably the NPA-Andrusiw Paramedic Scholarship, a legacy Marg was instrumental in creating.
Marg will be remembered not only for her contributions to the community but for the incredible person she was—strong, determined, and endlessly compassionate. She has left an indelible mark on my life and on the lives of so many others. Rest in peace, Marg. Your legacy will live on, and you will be deeply missed.
Love forever your friend Syl

We would like to send condolences to the family of Marg Cyr. I know you will all miss her. Marg was a visionary leader and one of the founding members of the Niagara Safety Village, and was chair of the board for many years. Marg and Ted's dedication and vision, laid the cornerstone for what the Safety Village has become today. Their tireless commitment, and unwavering passion for the village were instrumental in shaping our mission and guiding us through both triumphs and challenges. The legacy she leaves behind is a testament to her enduring impact on our communities. Marg lived a remarkable life, and for me as the E.D. of the village, she was always so supportive. She told it as it was, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will continue to uphold the vision that Marg so passionately had for the village, and delivering programs that will continue to save children's lives. You will be missed.
