Obituary of Anne English Spurling
We are saddened to announce that Anne English Spurling, age 71, died on Friday, August 16, 2024 at St. Catherines General Hospital in St. Catherines, Ontario after a ten year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Anne was born in Ahmadi, Kuwait; this set the stage for a life filled with travel and adventure. Growing up, Anne lived in Hamilton, Ontario, and attended Mount Mary Immaculate Academy in Ancaster, Ontario. From there, she lived in London, New York City, Toronto, Bermuda, and Lagos, Nigeria, and travelled throughout the world with her husband, Ken, and their three children. She made many friends during her adventures, whom she loved to regale with stories at the dinner table that she told with a sparkle in her eye. She was a voracious reader, an exquisite chef, and a shrewd business woman; having been a real estate developer and attended law school, where she finished top of her class at the University of Kent.
What she loved most was her family. She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband of 50 years, Kenneth George Spurling; daughter, Megan Spurling Marsh; sons, Kenneth Grant Spurling and Ian George Spurling. She treasured her time with her son-in-law, Michael, and daughters-in-law, Helena and Emily, as well as her six grand-children, Annabelle, Nancy, Magne, Henry, Oliver, and Theodore. Her spirit and traditions live on in all those who loved her dearly.
If so desired, donations made in her memory to 'CurePSP' would be appreciated by her family.
