Obituary of Arnold Lewis Pereira
The Lord welcomed Arnold Lewis Pereira into His arms on Friday, August 9th 2024 in his 92nd year. Arnold was in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Survived by his beloved spouse of 67 years, Arline Pereira (nee Pinard); loving children Ava (Scott) Hadley, Rhonda (Paul) Courteau, Richard (Sandy) Pereira, Liz (Claudio) Keenan, Barry Pereira, Kelly (Bobby) Della Porta; “Daddad” to Lindsay (Darryl), Scotty, Breann (Mike), Brigitte, Craig (Jacynthe), Mandi (Santy), Melodie, Alicia (John), Richie (Katie), Sonia (Cam), Samantha (Tim), Krystal, Rachael (David), Ryan, Jacob and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Mia, Serenity, Lucas, Dylan, Noah, Remi, Maddix, Mackenzie, David, Isla, Sam and Liam; siblings, Leslie (Natalie) Pereira and Gemma De Souza. Many nieces, nephews and extended family to mourn Arnold.
Arnold was detail oriented; he had a passion for designing homes, building wrought iron gates and furniture. He engineered the many improvements to the Niagara Go-Karts. He also loved music that includes playing the organ, singing, politics, but most of all his family.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcomes guests for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 from 6:30 – 9:00pm with prayers beginning at 8:30pm. A Funeral Mass to be held Wednesday, August 14th 2024 at 2:30pm at the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake St., St. Catharines followed by a reception at Holiday Inn and Suites, 327 Ontario Street, St. Catharines. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the St. Denis Church of St. Catharines and/or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Arnold.
