Obituary of Edna Smith
On Tuesday July 30,2024, after a long happy life Edna passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 102.
Left behind are her children Linda (Chris), Randy (Ola), David (Jean), and Robyne (Bill), grandchildren Jason, Robyne (Rick), Carolyn, Angie (Rob), Hayley, Holly (Ray), Sydney (Mike), Graeme (Jenn), Andrew (Brooke) and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Emily Ingham and her siblings Joan, Eileen, Tom, Ida, George and Don. Predeceased by her loving husband George in l999.
Mom is survived by numerous nieces and nephews from the Smith and Ingham families and a special "Nan" to Jenny, Paul and Maddie.
Edna was in good health for almost all of her 102 years and was supported in staying in her home until the end by a dedicated team of caregivers. The family would like to take a moment to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mom's primary caregivers all of whom have so gently cared for Mom. Their kindness and compassion have never once gone unnoticed. In addition, the family deeply appreciates the support from Home and Community Care as well as the team at March of Dimes Canada , Right at Home and Paramed.
As per Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place Friday August 9, 2024 at 10 a.m. at George Darte Funeral Home 585 Carleton St. St. Catharines with service to follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to March of Dimes Canada or Niagara Children's Centre would be greatly appreciated.
