Obituary of Dorothy Margaret Jones
Dorothy, wife of Clarence (Jonesy) 2007, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, mementos of the past and (dozens of) cardinals watching over her.
Dorothy was a Lifetime member of St. John’s Anglican Church Port Dalhousie and was a previous president of Church Ladies Organization. She was a lifetime member of Canadian Calorie Counters Coast to Coast. Mom was the unofficial Port Dalhousie history
database and always loved to reminisce about her childhood especially during our drives - we will miss her trips down memory lane!
Proud mother of: Jim (Karon, Georgia), Brian (Jodi), Don (Louise) Penny (Lee).
Proud grandma of Jana (Kylie) Jeff (Meredith), Corrin (Michael), Amber, Briar, Dougie, Bradley (Jordan) and Amanda.
Great-grandma to Jocelyn, Karson, Kennedy, Joey, Theo, Hunter, Oliver and Quinn.
To mom’s dear friend, Joanne, a heartfelt thank you for your daily nighttime calls, mom always looked forward to your conversations.
Special thanks to Westhills staff, wonderful admin staff, thoughtful caregivers and amazing recreation dept, everyone took the time to chit chat and make mom smile!
The Bradley unit has the most loving and caring PSWs and RNs- mom felt like grandma to them all!
Kevin, Glenn, Sylvia and Frances, you were all true friends to her. And hold a special place in her heart and my heart, will miss our daily supper time chats.
If you see a cardinal, know that she is near. And let’s think of her each time we curl up in our special handmade Afghans and feel her arms cuddle us with her love.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family wish to invite family and friends for a time of gathering on Thursday, June 27th from 2 – 4pm and 7-9pm followed by a funeral service held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 80 Main St., Port Dalhousie on Friday, June 28th beginning at 11:00am. If desired, memorial donations are appreciated by the family to the church directed to the Smiley Hall.
