Mary Tregunno

Obituary of Mary Patricia Tregunno

With sadness and great love, we announce the passing of our Mother, Pat Tregunno, on June 22 at Pioneer Elder Care, St.Catharines. Pat is predeceased by our father, Philip (Ted) Tregunno, her daughter Alison, her grandson, Philip, and her son-in-law, Leonard. She was 95 years old.

Pat leaves a legacy of strength, generosity and humour that touched many lives. As her children, Amelia (Len) McLelland, Philip (Lorna) Tregunno, Nancy (Ed) Berkhout, and Jane (Gary) Stamp, we were fortunate to have her as a source of unwavering support. Pat will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a warm and caring Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, and friend, Mom rarely spent a day alone. Warm muffins, cookies, soup, or a jar of fresh jam always adorned the table. Recently, when Mom was no longer cooking herself, she received tasty meals, fresh produce, and treats from many visitors. She marvelled at many friends and relatives' generosity and greatly appreciated all she was given. Mom had a healthy appetite and loved a good sweet despite her slim frame.

We take comfort in that Pat lived a life of love, laughter, and friendship. Please consider planting a perennial or hanging a birdhouse as a tribute to Pat's love of nature.

We are deeply grateful to Pioneer Elder Care, Lakeshore Road staff, for their compassionate care and kindness toward Pat during her time there. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday August 9th from 2-4p.m. A private family interment will take place.
