Obituary of Dale Joseph Beckles

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dale Beckles. On May 29, 2024, Dale left us to dance with abandon on the streets of heaven with the love of his life, his wife, Dawn.

Dale was a remarkable, wonderful spirit who was highly active throughout his life, from childhood sports to tennis, kite surfing, cycling, and frisbee golf. He loved music, old TV shows, movies and traveling. A lifelong learner who had a passion for experiencing new cultures across the world with family and friends.

His constant thirst for knowledge, frequently found him with his nose in a book - on just about any subject. He eagerly studied technology, successfully launched two companies and was on the doorstep of bringing a new company to market at the time of his passing.

His spontaneous sense of humor bordered on zany (but after all, isn’t sanity just a one-trick pony anyway?) He was never satisfied with the status quo "that's the way it's always been done”. With his indomitable positive attitude and unwavering patience, he handled the hard stuff well. You wanted him on your team - and there are many teams out there who will feel his absence.  He will also be missed by the several children who benefited from his generative investment in their education; over several years, he has been a benefactor to many children through World Vision, and he followed their educational and social development with interest and optimism.

He is survived by his mother Patricia, father Cecil, his brother Derrick and sister-in-law Ksenia.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on June 27, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  As Dale prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us about it - or another joyful time shared with Dale on George Darte Funeral Home web site!  Online Guestbook – www.dartefuneralhome.com

If desired, please feel free to have a tree planted in Dale’s memory or a “Tribute – In Memory” may be made in the name of Dale Beckles and Dawn Nash to the Princess Margret Hospital Foundation.
