Obituary of Bice Finora
FINORA, Bice (nee Caravaggio) - Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, May 10, 2024 in her 93rd year, at the St. Catharines Hospital. Bice is predeceased by her husband Donato (1995). Loving mother to Dan and Lucille, Mario and Louise, and Michael. Cherished Nonni to Katie (Ryan), Holly, Jodie (Ron), Tiffany, Amy (Nathan), Marley, Michael (Kirsten), Jesse, Nathan, Clover (Tyler). Great grandmother to Addison, Connor, Grayson, Jameson, Tyleigh, Kingston, Austin, Riha, Honor and Skylar. Our mom was born October 6, 1931 in the town of Rocca San Giovanni, Province of Chieti, Italy. She came to Canada in May 1953 to marry our dad Donato, the love of her life. Bice is survived by her sister Maria Stante, brother Tonino (Angela) Caravaggio, her brother Franco (Annamaria) Caravaggio, brother-in-law Guerino (Alida) Finoro. Predeceased by sisters Nella, Francesca(Guiseppe) Luciani, Adele (Donato) Mancini, sisters-in-law Concetta (Nicola) Mancini, Italia (Biase) D’Ilio, Lucia (Mario) Perata, brothers-in-law Nicola Stante, Tonino(Louisa) and Nicola Finoro. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy, who she loved and maintained close ties with over the years. Our mom loved gardening, but most of all she loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, embracing everyone who walked through her door. Before retirement, Bice worked twenty years at Linhaven Long Term Care Home, preparing meals with love for all the residents. She brought so much joy to all who knew her. Thank you to the nursing staff on the 2nd floor of the St. Catharines Hospital for their constant care and kindness to our mom over the past six weeks. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Tuesday May 14th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Tuesday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, May 15th at 11a.m. Entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Star of the Sea Church or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
