Obituary of Rose Marie Bye
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rose Marie Bye “Midge” in her 79th year on Monday, March 11th 2024 after a brave life-long battle with the vascular disease HHT. Midge has gone to her well-deserved resting place, peace at last. Many thanks to the caregivers for the compassion and understanding shown to Midge during her stay on 4A at the St. Catharines General. Midge is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Ted; sons Bill (Ann), Jeff (Laurie) and grandson Dillon (Sarah) of Newfoundland; brothers Eddy (Sophie), Rick (Teresa); sisters Sandy (Ross), Betty (Nick) and many nieces and nephews. Remembered by her BFF “Lucy”. Predeceased by her parents, Richard and Marguerite Rioux and brother Gary. If success in life can be measured in doing the ordinary, extraordinarily well, Midge’s life was a huge success.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcomes a time of gathering on Friday, March 15th from 2:00-4:00pm with a ceremony at 4:00pm followed by a reception on the main level of the funeral home. All are welcome to attend the burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 16th 2024 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice Niagara or Niagara Health System.
