Obituary of Jim Asselstine
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Jim Asselstine in his 71st year. Proud father to Chad, Benjamin (Candace) and Victoria (Mike); loving Grumpa to Addison and Sophie, brother to Shirley (Marcel) and Joyce; uncle to Dani, Jonathan and Chris. Jim cared for everyone he met and considered many more his family. A pioneer in the security industry, Jim was beyond successful running many businesses and was the first President of CANASA and served as the Chairman of Fire Monitoring of Canada Inc.
Jim enjoyed exploring in his car and sharing his quick wit conversations over the phone. Jim passed down his wisdom always looking to help others achieve their personal goals. A larger-than-life presence who could not have been more supportive. The family wish to give thanks to those who gave their efforts in supporting and providing light to Jim’s life.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and the family invites family and friends for a time of gathering in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 12th 2024 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
