Obituary of Jason (Jay) Simpson

Jason Ronald Gilmore Simpson, Jay "Simpz" Born September 15th 1973. After a 9-month, hard fought battle with cancer, Jason Simpson passed away February 20th 2024. Jay passed peacefully at the St. Catharines hospital surrounded by his loved ones. His smile and laugh could light up a room. Jay was a true warrior and in his battle to the end- he remains known a true "Legend". He was a protector of all of those he loved. Jay will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family. Survived by his daughter, Angela; partner April and her children, Georgia and Veronica; his mother Shirley and father Ron, brother Cory (Chevonne); nephew Carson; niece Mila, grandparents, Yvonne and Walter Gilleta and Jay's beloved dog, Marnie. At peace now and reunited with his best friend, Vandella, Jay will be missed but never forgotten and will live on through our memories and stories. Jay wanted his family and friends to know that in the end, cancer did not win, it was a draw. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and the family welcomes all to gather for a period of visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, February 25th from 6-8pm and Monday, February 26th from 10-12pm followed by a funeral service in the funeral home ceremony room. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lincoln County Humane Society in honour of Jay's deep love for dogs.
