Obituary of Beth Anne Leclair
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Beth Leclair on February 9th, 2024. Beth was the loving mother of Gwen and Eric, the cherished daughter of Henry (predeceased) and Justina Cornies, dear sister of Pamela (Bruce) Grigg, devoted aunt of Bailey and Evan Grigg and much-loved niece and cousin to the Cornies and Friesen families.
Beth was first diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago. She was in remission for several years after completing treatment, until cancer was detected again in 2020. Beth fought cancer fiercely, with a quiet dignity and determination to live her life to the fullest, enjoying as much time as she could with her children.
Beth didn’t fight this fight alone. She had so much support from her friends, especially Ronna, Kelley, Miriam, Kristin, Stacey, Caryl and Louise. Rides to treatment, runs for groceries and visits to lift Beth’s spirits were regular occurrences for this group and each of these women meant a lot to Beth and our family is grateful for them as well.
We would like to thank the staff at The Walker Family Cancer Centre for the care Beth received, especially Dr VanderMeer and her wonderful nurse Deb Pogoda who was a strong advocate and support for Beth throughout her entire cancer journey.
Beth was so much more than her diagnosis. She was an incredibly talented artist and photographer who loved being outdoors, spending time in nature and enjoying live music whenever possible.
If you wish to make a donation in Beth’s memory, please consider Wellspring Niagara or The Walker Family Cancer Centre.
The family will receive friends and family at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday February 21st from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and the funeral will take place at 11am on Thursday February 22nd at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street.
