Obituary of Terrence Lee Whitehead
The family of Terrence “Terry” Whitehead sadly announce his sudden passing on Thursday, February 8th 2024 at home in his 70th year. Cherished husband of Olayinka Animashaun; proud father to Christiana Whitehead; big brother to Cindy (Chris) Hrenuk; loving son of Barbara Hrenuk; step-father to Christopher and Peter Animashaun; uncle to Winry and will be missed by his uncle, Robert Whitehead and his furry companion, Josh.
Terry always made time for the people he cared about, showing kindness and compassion towards every soul he met. Joking was a pastime hobby; you could always find him wearing a smile. Terry worked with Oakridge landscaping for 10 years until he became co-founder of the Niagara African Caribbean Cultural Organization in St. Catharines. He was the director of operations and responsible for organizing many programs in support of the black community.
In keeping with the family’s wishes funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 21st 2024 at 11:00AM in the funeral home. A burial at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 RR 20, Fonthill to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Niagara African Caribbean Cultural Organization (NACCO) in memory of Terry.
