Obituary of Marilyn Gail Hainer
HAINER, Marilyn (nee Burke) - On Sunday, January 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Marilyn passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 71. Beloved wife and revered partner and best friend of Harvey for 43 years. Fiercely loved mama and bestie of Kristy and Kelly and the bestest buddy to her favourite son-in-law Tim Knapp. Adored by her siblings Brian (Sandy) Burke, Pat Moore, Gary (Michelle) Burke, and Lori (Phil) Baker. Marilyn will be remembered by her sister-in-law Debbie Hainer Buckingham and she will be sadly missed by her sweet Aunt Ruth Kennedy. “Aunt Mare” was loved dearly by her nephews and deeply treasured by her great nieces and nephews. A few of Marilyn’s greatest joys outside of her family were her employees and customers at Hainer’s Tire & Auto. Her contagious smile, friendly and welcoming demeanor, and listening ear were always a guarantee. She was invested in many of her customers’ lives and genuinely cared for their well-being as if they were family. She was a bright light who left a positive impact on most.
The family wishes to give thanks to her dedicated team of wellness practitioners, specifically Dr. Bouchard and team, Dr Kaplan and his team, nurse Irina, and Dr. Kerley.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, January 26th from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, January 27th from 1-3 p.m. A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will take place at a later date.
