Obituary of Paulino Ignacio Prudente
PRUDENTE Paulino "Lino" Ignacio - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, that we announce the passing away of Paulino on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 at the Meadows of Dorchester Long Term Care Home in Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angelina (Helen) Prudente; his son Paulino (Rowena) Prudente Jr; his daughter Barbara (Dale) King; his grandson Brandon Prudente; his brother Agripino Jr; his sisters Gertrude (Trudy), Martha (Snooky), Vicky, Florian, and Adoracion (Dory) and many friends.
Paulino was born and raised in Olongapo City, Philippines, the son of Agripino and Anacleta Prudente, he immigrated to Canada where he became a lifelong resident of the Niagara Region.
Paulino worked at General Motors (Plant 1 and 2) for 30 years until he was forced to retire due to illness. He enjoyed sports and loved playing basketball, slo-pitch and golf.
Paulino's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday, October 11th from 7-9 pm, Friday, October 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Saturday, October 13th from 9-11 am. Funeral Liturgy will follow the visitation on Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 67 Church Street at 12pm. Rite of Committal will follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Meadows of Dorchester would be appreciated by the family.
