Obituary of William Alan Teeter

WILLIAM ALAN (AL) ALEXANDER TEETER, CLU, CH.F.C.

11.18.1937 - 11.14.2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say farewell to the head of our family, Al Teeter. After his courageous and hard-fought battle to get home after a serious illness put him in the hospital eight months ago, he left us suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, November 14th at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls, four days shy of his 86th birthday. Al was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Dorothy (Dot), sister Bertha, brothers Kenneth, Morris (Mac) & Garth (Lilian) and his beloved dog and best friend, Dundee. Al will forever be loved and missed by his wife and best friend Trish (nee Walker) and her family Elizabeth, Malcolm, Eva, David Jennifer, Ben & Margaret. Daughters Debbie (Rick) Boucher & Susan & Son Scott (Brigitte). Grandchildren Adam (Ashton) Boucher, Ryan (Alexis), Ben (Maddy), Alex (Jen), and his only granddaughter Erin (Brian) Fothe, Great granddaughters Emma & Aubrey & Olivia and his former wife Pat, Sister-in-law Kathryn, niece Lynda, and nephews Greg (Becky), Robert, Brad (Jody)  and Chris. Al began his very successful Financial Services career in the Insurance business in 1964.

In 1985 Al joined Grant Sylvester in the building of Money Concepts Canada and in 1997 became President of his own Money Concept Franchise. In 2008 Teeter/Rotz Financial was Incorporated and he continued working with his clients well into his 80’s. He will be missed by his longtime business partner and friend, Karen Rotz.

He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and generosity, his never-ending love for his family and friends, good food and drink, going to the cottage, and of course, golf.

Golf was definitely his #1 passion for most of his adult life. He was a long-time and very active member of the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club where he enjoyed spending time with his “Twentysome” golfing buddies, and the Wednesday and Sunday gang and all the other days in between.

Special thank you to the staff at Greater Niagara General for taking such great care of this very special man. Al had many friends over the years and a special thank you goes out to Archie Katzman, Bill & Diane Wittig, Dalton McArthur and  Scott Hill, for their regular phone calls, visits, and updates that kept Al up to speed on everything that was going on.

Keep working on that backswing up there Al, and now you can enjoy all of the Prime Rib and cigars that you want. You will be forever loved.

In keeping with Al’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in December with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to St. Catharines Community Care in honour of Al.
