Berta Aghop Kassardjian
October 10th 1958 - November 08th 2023
It is with great sadness, that our family announces the untimely passing of Berta Kassardjian on November 8, 2023, just recently celebrating her 65th birthday. She is survived by her lifelong husband and soulmate, of 50 years, Hagop and her loving children Hovsep (Anni) Kassardjian and Lucy (Garo) Okajian.
She is the cherished and most dedicated grandmother of seven grandchildren whom she loved more then anything, Ariana, Sylvana, Mano, Karine, Kayla, Jacob, and Rosina who will all miss her greatly.
Berta was loving, generous and beautiful, inside, and out. She always gave and never expected anything in return. She was an amazing cook, baker and took pride in everything she did. She was happiest when she had her children and grandchildren around her table and was able to feed them and enjoy them laughing and joking with one another. She will be so greatly missed by so many of her family, friends, and community members.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, visitation will be held Monday November 13th 6:00-8:00 pm at George Darte Funeral Home located 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday November 14th at St Gregory’s Church, 49 Carlton Street at 11:00am, followed by Victoria Lawn Cemetery, 431 Queenston Street. Reception to follow at the Armenian Community Centre, 156 Martindale Rd.
Memorial donations in Berta’s honour can be made to the Armenian Community Centre.
