Obituary of Rod North
On Friday, November 3rd 2023 the family lost their beloved husband and father, Rod North in his 97th year at the NHS-St. Catharines Hospital. Cherished husband of Anne North for 71 beautiful years; loving father of Michael (Erin) North, Cindy (Don) Masecar; Grandad of Philip, Johnathon (Crystal) and Sean Masecar, Chris (Natasha) North, Danny and Celia North and Great-Granddad to Serenity Masecar. Rod will be survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Rod are his parents, Fred and Maude North, sister, Enid and brother-in-law Trevor Morgan and many family members. Accountant by trade, drummer by choice, Rod always found a way to bring life to the party. He was kind, giving and considerate and will always be remembered for his love of jazz, wry humour and art. The family wish to acknowledge the wonderful care and love the PSW’s, nurses and hospital staff gave to Rod during his illness.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Rod’s family welcome friends and family for a time of visitation on Saturday, November 11th from 7:00 – 9:00PM and Sunday, November 12th from 2:00 – 4:00PM and 7:00 - 9:00PM with vigil prayers to be held at 3:00PM on Sunday. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 13th 2023 at St. Alfred’s Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines at 11:00AM with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Niagara Hospice and Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in memory of Rod.
