Obituary of Marsilio Ferretti

Passed away peacefully at St. Catharines Hospital on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 76. Loving and devoted husband of Sharron (Holder). Cherished father of Maria (John) Passero and Marc (Sarah) Ferretti. Proud Papa of Julia, Joshua and Rachel Passero and Jackilyn and Makayla Ferretti. Dear brother of Antonio (Anna) Ferretti and Pasqualina Leonzi. Predeceased by his parents Luigi and Maria Ferretti (Pavone), in-laws Clarence and Margaret Holder (Honsberger) and brother-in-law Giovanni Leonzi. Marc is survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and longtime friends.

Marc was born in Pineto, Italy and came to Canada at the age of 12. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service.  Marc was an avid golfer, a member of the Unifor bowling league and a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He spent his spare time building his own train set which he shared with his grandchildren. Sharron and Marc enjoyed playing euchre with their card group for over 40 years as well as taking many trips with family and friends.

He will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature and sense of humour.

The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, October 10th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Vigil prayers at 3pm.  Funeral Liturgy for Marc will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, October 11th at 11am. at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St. Entombment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations made in Marc's memory to Hospice Niagara or the Walker Family Cancer Center would be appreciated by his family.
