Obituary of Susan Jane Beauvais
With deep sorrow, the family of Susan Beauvais (nee Gallaugher) announces her passing on Wednesday, September 20th 2023 in her 67th year with her husband at her side. Survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Earl Beauvais; cherished children, Drew (Kathryn) Beauvais and Brennan (Jessica) Beauvais; grandchildren, Evelyn, Emilia, Calcifer and Isabeau; siblings, Mary Lynn (Sean) McCool and Brian Gallaugher, Linda (Robert) King, Gail (Jurgen) Morsch, Sandra (Ron) Pike and Phyllis Beauvais; brother-in-law, Keith Milne; nieces and nephew, Courtney McCool-Law and Fiona McCool, Sara Spicer, Christopher and Leanne Otto, Joelle King, Kathryn Smith and Jacqueline Stauart, and Melina and Nadine Morsch; cousins, Wendy (Wayne) Robinson. Predeceased by Susan are her parents, John and Velma Gallaugher and sister Joanne Milne.
Susan was beautiful inside and out, raised on a family farm and learned the meaning of hard work. Graduating from York University, Susan began working with Hulse & English Funeral Home and later finished her career with the John Howard Society. In her earlier days, one could find Susan pounding the pavement playing tennis, front crawling the Alliston Rotary Pool and helping on the farm, which turned to devoting her time to raising her children and eventual grandchildren. Selfless, compassionate and outgoing are only a few words that best describe Susan and those whom knew her will forever be changed by her light.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place and the family welcomes guests for a time of visitation on Friday, November 17th 2023 from 1:30 – 2:30PM with a Celebration of Life to begin at 2:30 with a reception to follow held in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall of the funeral home. If desired, donations made to the Niagara Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
