Obituary of Marion Joyce Geoghegan
GEOGHEGAN, Marion (nee Hopkins) - It is with deep sadness that the family of Marion Geoghegan announces her sudden passing on September 3, 2023 at her residence in her 90th year. Dearly loved mother of Belinda (Patrick) McCauley and Patrick (Wendy) McGaeghan. Marion cherished and was much loved in return by her 5 grandchildren, Connor, Reid, Kaitlyn, Cole and Liam. Predeceased by her husband of 64 years Mark in 2020. Also predeceased by her sisters Ruth and Elizabeth as well as brother in laws Sam, Walter, John and Les. Marion is survived by her dear sisters Betty and Joan and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Marion was a kind and generous spirit and multi-talented whether it was singing with her sisters, sewing, knitting, firing ceramics dolls or painting. The results of her craft projects, and her warmth, made the world a more beautiful place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Thursday, September 7th from 2-4p.m.& 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Denis Church, 230 Lake Street, St Catharines on Friday, September 8th at 1p.m. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Welland to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
