Obituary of Dr. David Irving Lorenzen
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. David I. Lorenzen in his 87th year on Wednesday, August 16th 2023 with Chris and Marylou at his side. Born in St, Catharines on April 21st 1936 to parents Irv and Mary, David graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School and was a practicing family physician for 50 years in the Niagara Region. During that time, he was also the Medical Officer for the Lincoln and Welland Regiment and City Coroner. He was an avid HAM radio operator, expert marksman and enjoyed sailing and spending time with his dog, Belle. David will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The next time you are at the pub, raise a pint of Smithwicks in his honour. He is survived by his wife, Beverley; children Christian (Marylou), Eric, Susan and Neil (Julie); grandchildren: Henry (Danella), Ellen (Kyle), Jack (Natalie), McKinley and Evelyn; sister Jeanette and many in-laws and extended family. In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, consider making donations to the Lincoln County Humane Society in memory of David.
