Obituary of Dorothy Rebecca Patrick

PATRICK, Dorothy Rebecca Passed away after an unexpected yet short and courageous battle at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Tuesday, June 26th at the age of 53. Much loved wife, soulmate and best friend of Dan for 23 years, loving mother of Melony and Reuben Jarvis, Maria Patrick and Jason Sider-Lafrance, Jamie Patrick and Holly Patrick. Cherished Grandma to Courtney, Kaitlyn, Lindsay and Jenna. Also survived by her sister Elaine Bush, Mariva Blex, John and Jenn Arcadipane, Ken and Stacey Simpson, Leon, Allen and Meryl Simpson, cousin Laurie Mosher, and Uncle Les Simpson. She will be missed by her in laws Darcy and Mary Patrick, brothers in law Kelly, Mark (Hillary), Martin (Janice), Shane (Nawaz), Joel, and Darcy (Sherrie) Patrick, and stepmother Verna VanSchoonhoven. Dearly missed by the family dogs Sammy and Molly, and cats Giggs and Roxy. She will be missed but never forgotten by her dear friends Judy and Darcy Patrick, Donna Parr, Lise Degagne, Dina Lupke, Laurie Henderson, Ralph (Tammy) Hosier, Barry Patrick, Scott Martin and Barney Blankley. The family extends sincere thanks to ICU Nurses- Kathy Atkins and Doranne Pravetti for their care and compassion. Despite all of her health issues, Dorothy never gave up and lived her life to the fullest. She was the families biggest cheerleader attending all of the family sporting events and she was a die hard Maple Leafs fan. She was also a longtime member of St. Denis Parish. Dorothy's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, June 29th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, June 30th at 10am. Rite of Committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
