Obituary of Rebecca Karen De Rosa
It is with love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca Karen De Rosa on May 9, 2023. Our “Bella” was born on December 19, 1991 to her father Nick De Rosa (Suzanne) and mother Susan Krulik-Versluis (Ron), to her siblings Johnathan and Daniel (Julia), Shae, Madison (Brendan), Jennifer (Mitch), Jessica (Dexter), Rebekah, to her much beloved nonna Immacolata De Rosa (late John) and grandfather Rudy Krulik (Linda, and the late Karen), and to her aunts and uncles who were especially thrilled that finally a girl had arrived in the family.
Her cherished children, Logan and Claire, will remember her as a loving and fun Mom who, with her artistic talents, made the most mundane tasks (like painting and decorating their rooms) into a grand event. Bella had a great love and talent for music – all kinds - and she was never afraid to share her talents, whether practising the piano which she adored, playing in a band, or writing songs that expressed her wisdom and insight well beyond her young years. She still loved Disney films which reminded her of her childhood, filled with piano practice with her nonna, her infectious laugh when at play with her siblings, or rummaging with joy in search of grown-up dresses and high heels.
As a child, she was happy, fun-loving, and caring, and who was never afraid to take on crazy requests from her family like being asked to be a flower girl at her aunt’s wedding at 18 months old. She loved her family dearly, her presence calming and supportive, particularly with her younger cousins and siblings. Bella had an extraordinary gift of communicating with people, and her genuine laughter and smile filled the room.
Her life’s path was cut too short leaving her brilliance and impact unrealized, and her dream of becoming a lawyer unfulfilled. We are grateful to have had her in our lives and hearts where she will remain forever. Our much loved Bella, we will miss you dearly: sweet princess, may hosts of angels sing you to your final sleep.
A private celebration of Bella’s life for friends and family will be held at the George Darte Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a trust in the name of Bella’s children is being created and details will be available through the George Darte Funeral Chapel.
