Obituary of Jack Geradus Hoogenboom
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, April 17, 2023 at The St. Catharine’s Hospital in his 101st year. Loving husband of the late Joanne (2014).
Loving father of Kees, Fred (Debbie), Jerry, Tom, Dennis and Pauline (John). Jack was a cherished Grandpa of Corrie (Cara), Brett (Liane), Ryan, Kristine, Craig, and Samantha. Special Great Grandpa of Breanna, Calvin, Jacob, Caleb, Coryna, and Cassidy.
Jack is survived by his siblings in Holland, Josefien, Kees (Willie), Hilda (Ton) Groet, Catharine, Paul (Jo) and predeceased by his siblings Dirk (Annie), Marie Akerbom (Piet), Hillegonda Bakker (Koos), Herman, Jan, Nel, Leny and Hein.
Jack immigrated from Holland in 1954, working at General Motors for many years. Jack enjoyed gardening and birds as his hobbies.
Friends may visit the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 5 to 8pm. Funeral Mass will be at Star of the Sea Church Monday, April 24, 2023 11am. Burial will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St., St. Catharines. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
