Obituary of Robert Edwin Hallett

HALLETT, Robert - Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Welland Hospital at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Luci for 53 years. Cherished father of Ted Hallett. Loving brother of Patti Hallett. Bob was born in St Catharines and attended Notre Dame highschool in Welland and Denis Morris in St Catharines. Bob studied radio and television arts at Ryerson polytechnical Institute, Toronto. After graduation in 1968 he worked at CFOR radio station in Orillia Ontario as news Director. In 1970 he fell in love and married Luci. In 1971, he moved back to Saint Catherine’s and worked for Hiram Walker distilleries as Niagara district manager. Bob joined Inniskillin winery as a wine consultant for the Niagara region then worked for Vincor & Constellation Brands. He retired in 2007. He was an avid sports fan, a golfer and a die hard fan of Buffalo Bills, football, Hamilton Tiger Cats, Chicago, Blackhawks, and a supportive fan of all our local sports teams. He had a love of singing and was a member of the St. Catharines Singing Saints Barbershop Quartet. Bob was an active volunteer with Saint Vincent de Paul, Society at Star of the Sea church in Saint Catharines. Loved to travel and he explored over 24 countries. Rest in peace, Bob. The family will recieve visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Thursday, April 20th from 3-7p.m. Rosary will take place at 4p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street, St Catharines on Friday, April 21st at 11a.m. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Star of the Sea Church- St Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family.
