Obituary of Shirley May Csordas
CSORDAS, Shirley ( nee Chassie) - With extreme sadness, we announce Shirley's passing at NHS St. Catharines on Wednesday evening, March 29, 2023 in her 70th year. Beloved mother of Christopher (Carrie- Ann), Ma-Mah of Robbie and Dylan. Forever missed by sister Barbara Earle (Garnet, d), brother Ron Chassie(Dave Patterson) and niece Jenn Bezan. Predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Anne, sisters Jackie Seburn and Francie Lefebvre, family friend John Rigby and many other family members and friends. Besides her family, Shirley was a devoted member of Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 24 giving of herself to its operation with many hours of her time in many volunteer capacities. For this, she was awarded Life Membership and The Meritorious Service Medal. Employed by Canada Post, she began her career as an Inside clerk and transferred to letter carrier, her preferred job, where she remained until retirement, making many friends both in the office and on her routes. Many occupants of her condo building were recipients of her giving nature as she delivered their newspapers to their doors, naturally expecting nothing in return. Indeed, her absence will affect so many in our community. Cremation has taken place. A Legion Funeral Service will be held at Branch 24, 15 George St. (lower level) on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00p.m. followed by a reception. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 24 General Fund or the charity of your choice. |
