REGEHR, Kenneth (Ken)- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken on Monday, March 13th, 2023. Ken passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family, at age 78. Ken will be remembered by his beloved wife of 49 years, Corrine, sons Doug Regehr and Michael (Nicole) Regehr, and his grandchildren Makayla, Abigail, Jacob, Arianne, Lillian and Avril, and sister Betty. He is predeceased by his brother Henry and his parents, Cornelius and Sara.
Ken was born on a farm in Ryley, Alberta. At age six, he moved with his family to Ontario, eventually settling in St. Catharines, Ontario, where he met and married Corrine. Ken was a devoted company man, working for General Motors for over 35 years as "an engineer without all the fancy letters at the end of my name."
After retirement, he turned to his many passions and hobbies. Ken was a car enthusiast, and avid RVer, with his many Fifth Wheels taking him and Corrine across Canada and the US. Ken was also a master carpenter, creating endless beautiful treasures for friends and family. Ken also loved the nature around him; he was a bird-watcher (especially the Toronto Blue Jays) and an award-winning garden designer. Ken's smile and sense of humour were one of a kind and will be so fondly remembered by many of his family and special friends and neighbours.
Special thanks to Dr. Lee and all the doctors, nurses and support staff on Oncology 3B at the Niagara Regional Health Centre. Cremation has taken place.
Ken rests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. & service will take place at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Gillian's Place or St. Catharines Horticultural Society.
