                                          William Fraser Schaubel

                                        May 9, 1940 - March 12, 2023

Bill has gone to meet his beloved wife and best friend of 61 years, in heaven, Patricia Anne (2022). Predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Marvin, his son Jerry, daughters Mary and Judy, son-in-law David, grandson David and great - grandson Kaden. Best Dad ever to Michael (Edna), Billy, Amy (Dallas) and Becky. Brother - in - law to Judy Augustyn. Grandpa will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer, Janet, Patria, Michna, Harris, Robyn, Katy, Allison, Gracie, Megan, Billy, Ryan and Mackenzie and great-grandchildren Walker, Logan, Avery, Katlyn, Talon, Alexis, Evan, David, Mattie, Kora, Ali and Mason. Bill spent many years, beginning in 1961, with the Niagara Militaires Drum Corps and joined the Mighty St. Joe's Alumni Corps many years later and spent many years travelling in Canada and the U.S. with both drum corps. Bill loved his friends at the condo, especially 'The Ducks'. Bill had the gift of gab and always loved to share his stories with anyone who listened. The driving force to Bill's attitude during his last couple of years was his strength, his positive attitude, his family, friends and his "It is what it is" motto. Bill was a self proclaimed “5 Star Certified Ass” and proud of it! Thank you to the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Douglas Memorial Rehab in Fort Erie and all of the PSWs for their home visits and our home care nurse Sharlene for all of their care and compassion for our father. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, March 16th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place at 3p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St Catharines on Friday, March 17th at 11a.m. Cremation to follow. Please join us for a luncheon after the funeral service to help celebrate Bill's love for life, family and friends. The family requests No Flowers to be sent for Bill or his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wellspring Niagara.
