Obituary of Egle Modesta Vita

Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, January 16th at NHS St. Catharines Site. Egle, beloved wife of the late Fernando. Cherished mother of Egilda Chirichiello (Graziano) and Pina Steers (Wayne). Devoted Nonna of Catrina (Prachi), James (Nadine), Melissa (Adam), and Juliana (Drew). Great Nonna of Priya, Chiara, Soraya Dutta. Predeceased by her parents Albino and Maria Cappelli and her brothers Ezio (Nerina), Egildo, Eridano and Ettore (Lucy), her sisters Rosina (Elio) and Elena (Armando), her brother-in-law Guiseppe Paparoni, Pietro (Rosa) and her sister-in-law Parmina (Enrico) both of Italy. Lovingly remembered by her sister Egeria Paparoni and her sister-in-law Elisa Cappelli and many cousins, neices and nephews here in Canada and in Italy. 

The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, January 19th from 2-4 amd 6-8pm. Vigil prayers at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated for Egle at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church 272 Vine Street on Friday, January 20th at 11am. Interment to follow Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Egle's memory would be appreciated by her family. A sincere heartfelt thanks to the medical and support staff of Henley House and the hospital for their compassion and care.
