Obituary of Janina Przybycinski
Janina Przybycinski, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born on July 24, 1930, to the late Weronica and Wladyslaw Panasewicz in the village of Trumpiszki, Russia and was preceded in death by her husband Henry.
Janina is survived by her loving family, daughter Maria and grandchildren Chris Korab with his wife Jenn, and Richard Korab with his wife Mallory, along with two great-grandchildren Nikolas and Jakob Korab.
Janina came to Canada in 1978 and enjoyed gardening, dancing and was an avid knitter, creating warm clothing and gifts for her family and friends. More than anything, she loved her family and loved spending time with them. Janina was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Holy Rosary Society, and Canadian Polish Society. She volunteered her time by helping in the kitchens, baking delicious babka, pierogi, cabbage rolls and other traditional Polish delicacies for everyone. Janina's life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Janina left grieving family and friends in Canada and Poland, along with her sister Josephine Solecki, niece Veronica Dec, great-nephews Lucas Dec with wife Alexandra and Robert Dec. She is lovingly and forever remembered by her family.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St on Friday, January 6th from 6-9pm. Vigil prayers at 7:30pm. Funeral Liturgy for Janina will be celebrated Saturday, January 7th at 10am. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
