Obituary of Lorraine Irene Reschke
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Reschke announce her passing on December 29, 2022 in her 86th year. She was set free from pain and is now in the loving arms of her precious Saviour Jesus Christ with whom she had entrusted her whole life to.
Lorraine was born on May 17, 1937 in Lipton, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Jacob and Martha Seib who had immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1928. She always loved music and actively participated in the Music Ministry at Church. She enjoyed singing and playing the organ and piano.
Lorraine met Oskar Reschke who won her heart, and their wedding took place on August 12, 1961. They were happily married for 61 years. Oskar and Lorraine were blessed with a daughter, Darlene Karen and a son, Lloyd Alexander.
Lorraine had a great love for Jesus Christ. Lorraine enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was very gifted with baking, sewing, and gardening and LOVED being a grandma to her 5 grandchildren. She cherished family times with extended family and often hosted family gatherings.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Oskar and her children Darlene (Ed) Gesch and Lloyd (Karen) Reschke. Grandchildren: Bradley Gesch, Jayden (Rose) Gesch, Lindsey Gesch, Madison Reschke, and Braden Reschke. She was overjoyed to welcome her first great grandson this year, Edward.
She is survived by her brother Walter (Violet) Seib of British Columbia as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Annie Biech, Elsie Schmidt, and her brother Helmut Seib.
The family will receive friends at George Darte Funeral Home (585 Carlton St) on Tuesday January 3rd from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Full Gospel Church, 376 Carlton St on Wednesday, January 4th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Full Gospel Church in Lorraine’s memory.
