Obituary of Nicole Stockwell
It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of the leading lady of our family. Nicole (Nickie) Stockwell left this world on December 1, 2022 , taken from us by cancer, which she faced with courage and strength. Mom was a gentle soul who served her family and church community with love and grace. Her 35+ years membership in the Catholic Women’s League and her active involvement at Star of the Sea parish were the avenues through which she served her community and lived her faith. In her working life she spent 25 years as the secretary at Ecole Immaculee - Conception, touching the lives of countless families in the Francophone community and forming life-long friendships with her co-workers.
Mom’s loving devotion to Dad for 57 years, and selfless care for her three daughters taught us that love is indeed an action word. She was the proudest, happiest Grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, all of whom adored her.
Nothing was more important to Mom than family. Our most memorable moments were spent enjoying great food, sharing stories and laughter, and always involved playing cards/games together. Mom almost always won.
Beloved wife of John (predeceased in 2018), cherished mother of Diane (Rob) Lamontagne, Lynda Stockwell (John Reich), and Kim (Rick) Jesik, adored grandma of Christina (David), Jeffrey, Erika, Steven (Marjorie), Blake (Cailey), Alyssa and Noah, and great grandmother of Felix and Leo.
Mom leaves behind four loving and supportive siblings, Guy (Louise), Claude (Rita), and Alain (Carole) Charpentier, and Claire (Vern) Smith as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is also predeceased by her father Germain Charpentier and her mother Jeannine St. Onge, as well as her sister Lise and brother-in-law Don James.
Special thanks to all of the lovely staff at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital 2 West for your warm and compassionate care.
