Obituary of John Charles Maggs
John passed away peacefully on November 15, 2022 in his 101st year. Predeceased by his son, Ken. He will be sadly missed by his step-daughters Judy Kalagian, Gail Devaney, and family friend Sharon Holloway. Grandfather to Jennifer, Erin, Courtney, Brooke, Ryan, Jason, and Shelly.
Born in England, John served in the Second World War as an electrician with the British Air Force. He immigrated to Canada after the war. John retired from General Motors where he worked as an electrician.
Special thanks to the Ina Grafton for their care and friendship over the years. With their help, he was able to live independently until his passing.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11am at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines with a funeral service taking place at 12pm. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. For those wishing to attend virtually, a livestream link will be available on the funeral home’s website.
