Obituary of Marcel Raymond Doucet
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Marcel, on November 6th, 2022, at age 69. He passed away suddenly with the love of his life by his side, Paulette.
Marcel was born in Welland, Ontario to the late Raymond and Madeleine (Boutin) on October 8th, 1953. He spent much of his childhood playing hockey which sparked his love of all sports.
He met the love of his life, Paulette (Soucie) in high school. It was love at first sight. They married in 1976. Marcel and Paulette created the most beautiful life together. They welcomed three lovely children, Marc (Crystal), Luc (Robin) and Natalie (Paul).
Marcel was a dedicated and proud father. He spent many years coaching his boys hockey and baseball teams. He spent countless evenings watching Natalie play soccer and driving her to swimming competitions. He was a man of patience. He loved sports and collecting various treasures.
Marcel became a grandfather and cherished being a Papa to Jersey, Vella, Evelyn, Juniper, Lyric, Avery and Emerson. He spent nearly everyday with his grandchildren, picking them up from the bus stop or sharing his secret stash of treats with them. He made the most beautiful memories with his grandchildren, including a family trip to Disney that we will never forget.
He will be fondly missed by his brother, Roger (Monique). He will be also missed by his many family and friends.
Marcel was satisfied, fulfilled and so very much in love with his wife. He didn’t need or want much of anything other than time spent with her. He was always happy and smiling. His voice was loud and his heart was tender.
We are forever going to miss him.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday, November 10th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Vigil prayers at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated for Marcel on Friday morning at 10am at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 3 Lyman Street. Cremation to follow. If so desired, donation made in Marcel's Memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
