Obituary of Tony Giblin
A Memorial Mass will be held for Tony on Saturday October 7th, 2023, 5:00 pm at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street, St. Catharines.
The family of Anthony (Tony) Giblin sadly announce his passing on October 3, 2022. He was a loving husband to Crys for 64 years. A devoted father to Julia (Denis), Andrew (Karen), Tim, and Jennifer (Julius). Grandad to Alexandra (Troy), Jaymie, Andre (Marie), Hilary, Megan (Tanner), Liam, Nigel and Katie, and Great-Grandad to Aidan (Emily), Kieran, Brennan, Eloise, June, and Alex.
After emigrating from the UK in 1965 he fulfilled his passion for teaching in the classroom and as a principal. After retiring in 1990, he went on to spend 20 years at the College of Education at Brock University. Equally as passionate was his love of running. He won many national championships and many prestigious national and international races.
He will be forever loved and cherished.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 6, 2022 from 6-8pm at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2022 at 12:30pm at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin St., St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Michael’s Foundation (Cardio Link Cardiovascular Research) or the Village of Hope would be appreciated by Tony’s family.
