Obituary of Derrick Ryan Gordon
And no one said it was gonna be easy
And I’m not afraid to try
And with the odds stacked up against me
I will have to fight
One life, one chance, gotta do it right
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Derrick Ryan Gordon surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the St. Catharines General Hospital.
Derrick is survived by his mother, Susan Carre and predeceased by his father Mark Eric Gordon and Aunt Sandra Britton. He is survived by his Grandmother Teresa Britton, uncles Jim Gordon, Tom Britton (Laura), and James Britton (Lianne), Aunt Sandy Demo, and cousins Erica (Pat), Gillian (Rob), Greg (Carly), Stephanie (Kevin), Jason, Mathew, Victoria, Michael, Jordyn, Tyler, Sean and Jamie. Derrick was a loving godfather to Quinn.
Derricks’ passion was music, he enjoyed going to concerts, played in a band (The Holdouts) had hundreds of friends who truly loved him and always turned to him for support. Derrick was well read and could speak knowledgeably on many subjects. Derrick was a giant teddy bear, he loved his animals and brought lots of them (especially cats) home as a child.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Charles Daley Park on Friday, September 9th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
In Derrick’s memory, donations to the Lincoln County Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
