Obituary of Margaret Shirley Tutti
Margaret Shirley Tutti (nee Hogue) passed away peacefully, from complications after a fall, on September 2 at Upper Canada Lodge in Niagara-on-the Lake, at the age of 93.
The daughter of Lemuel and Betty Hogue of Welland, Ontario, Shirley was predeceased by her husband John Tutti. Shirley was beloved by many friends and family members. She is survived by her siblings, Ruth Rath of Ottawa, Ontario, Doreen Forbes of Vermilion, Alberta and James Hogue (Betty) of Trenton, Ontario. She is also survived by her children Janice Barr, Alexander Tutti (Lorraine), Erika Hardy, Barbara Parker (Matthew), and Karl Tutti. She is predeceased by her daughter Sylvia Furness (Chris).
As well she is survived by grandchildren Jessie Barr, Emma Barr-Kane (Brett), Amanda Grant (Logan), Meagan Tutti-Peters (Jonathan), Sandor Tutti (Jenn), Janice Kertesz (Lou), Chris Hardy (Andrea), Alex Burtoo, Jared Parker (Chanel Waze), Elia Dodson (Stephen), Danielle Furness, Fabian Furness (BJ). She is also survived by her great grandchildren Sylvan Quinn, Everett, Westley, Oliver, Harrison, Teagan, Finley, Deacon, Cheyanne, Ella, Samuel, Charlotte, Brianna, Taylor, and Stephen Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley lived a life of joyful service as a Registered Nurse in St. Catharines for over 45 years. Shirley served many years as a psychiatric nurse. She was also active in the Alzheimer’s Society of Niagara and Hospice Niagara, and she faithfully served her churches, Facer Street Baptist and Queen Street Baptist, in particular in Boys and Girls Clubs, Sunday School, and the Friendship Class with Adult Developmentally Disabled. She also was a faithful member of the choir for both churches.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 17 at George Darte Funeral Home in St. Catharines. Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm.
