Obituary of Marie Izmirian
Marie Izmirian (Ghougassian) passed away peacefully in Burlington on Wednesday August 10 , 2022 in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of Garabed (Predeceased) for 68 years and proud mother of Liz (Sandro Ballarin) , Susie, Helen (John Spadafora)
Predeceased by her parents Sima and Hagop and brother Haigaz Ghougassian
Cherished Nanny of Mathew and Alexandra
Marie will be remembered for her infectious smile, passion for family and friends and for the time spent at family gatherings. In her later years she resided at CAMA Woodlands in Burlington where she became a favourite of staff and residents quickly becoming their social media star.
Her warmth and hospitality touched her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15th at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines from 12-1pm. A small prayer will take place at 1pm and a Final Tribute to Marie will follow in the ceremony room of the funeral home. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
