Obituary of Arlene Louise Cimprich
Arlene Louise Cimprich -- April 29, 1952 - July 13, 2022
With deep sorrow, Arlene’s family announces that she passed away on July 13, 2022 at Niagara Health Centre in St. Catharines, following a brief and courageous battle with complications resulting from a fall.
She is survived by her brother Alan and is predeceased by her parents John (2002) and Zita (2009) Cimprich.
Fondly remembered for her endless enthusiasm, generosity and cheerful disposition, Arlene was a kind and loving soul, who thoroughly enjoyed making new friends and being part of the community.
A vibrant resident of Mainstream’s Supportive Living Program for the past 20 years, Arlene was determined to live as independently as possible. She enjoyed wonderful relationships with her Mainstream housemates and the staff — and provided extremely helpful insights on how to better support adults with a developmental difference.
Arlene participated in numerous programs offered through Mainstream. Her regular visits with friends to her favourite coffee and doughnut shops were the stuff of legends.
Family was central to Arlene and throughout her life and she looked forward to visits with family members from across the province for holiday celebrations and vacations. Maintaining strong bonds was vitally important to her, and, once formed, were unflagging.
Arlene’s smile and infectious laughter will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful staff at Mainstream for their ongoing assistance in helping Arlene reach her full potential — both through the various programs offered — and throughout her time in the Supportive Living Program at the Geneva Street house. Sincere thanks also to Mainstream residents and staff for their tremendous support and compassion throughout Arlene’s health crisis.
Many thanks also go to family doctor Dianne Walser-Jebb for her care for Arlene over the years and for her support throughout this very difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to St. Catharines Mainstream: A Non-Profit Housing Project. mainstreamservices.com
A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at Pleasantview Cemetery, Hwy. #20 in Fonthill.
