Obituary of Lorna Doone Raeburn Ball
BALL, Lorna Doone - It is with profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lorna Doone Raeburn (Wood ) Ball June11, 1938-July 7 2022. Predeceased by her husband Herbert Joseph Ball and her parents Ella and Al Wood. Loving sister of Dr Robert Wood and his family.Left behind with wonderful memories are: Son Jeff Ball and Sandra Mai Daughter Alison Thompson and Ren Mckenzie. Grandchildren Graham Thompson and Elysia French, Kyle Thompson and Whitney Charette, Matthew and Sarah Ball. Special GG to Jasper French Thompson. Mom lived her life with courage, strength and determination. She was deeply private and always thought of others first. She was an accomplished swimmer, skiier and golfer. She enjoyed many wonderful friendships developed through the May Court Club, The Bargain Box, The Bridge Club and her many golfing buddies.In her later years, she enjoyed life in her hillside home in Ellicottville, NY with her special companion Dick Young and her hummingbirds. We will mourn her loss and be forever grateful for having her with us for so many great years. When you see a hummingbird in your yard, stop and reflect for just a moment and know Mama Lorna is with you… she is always present. In lieu of flowers, we would like to encourage donations directed to Hospice Niagara.Our beautiful Mom was cared for and loved by her angels at Hospice Niagara.We feel forever grateful to each one of them, for their faith, kindness and love. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, (905)-937-4444.
