Obituary of Dino Sergas
Passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 84th year, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Pierina for 63 years. Will be dearly remembered by his children Marisa (Matt), David, Amie (John). Cherished nonno of Christopher (Samantha), Emily, Michael and Matthew. Loving brother of Irma (the late Stelio), Valerio, Gloria (Enzo), Emilia (Aldo), the late Felice (Laura), and Sonia (Sandro). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Dino came to Canada in 1960 from Trieste, Italy with his wife Pierina. Through hard work he built a life for his family, eventually working for Hayes Dana as a welder for 31 years.
He enjoyed his garden, building or fixing anything mechanical, playing bocce at Club Roma, and visiting with his family and friends from back home.
The family would like to thank his doctors, specialists and the medical staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their care.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Crohn's and Colitis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcome guests for an afternoon and evening visitation from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, Wednesday June 8, 2022 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Thursday June 9th 2022 at 11:30AM in the funeral home ceremony room with an entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
