Obituary of Walter Grundy
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Grundy on April 26, 2022 in his 84th year. He is now reunited with his wife, Florence (2013) and his son, Robert Lee (2012). Loving father to Richard (Margaret), Walter (Angie), and Michael (Gwen). Grandfather to nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Survived by his siblings; Eleanor (the late Grover), Joseph (Anna), and Ronald (Corinne). Predeceased by his brother, Dave.
Born in Montreal, Walter came to Ontario in 1949. He began working for General Motors in 1962 and retired as a Supervisor after 22 years of service. An avid fisherman, Walter was happiest when he was out fishing with his boys.
Arrangements entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 from 9-10am. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home ceremony room at 10am with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall at the funeral home. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Walter’s family.
